Chung Hom Kok and Stanley are a 5-minute drive apart and are located on the south side of Hong Kong Island. While Chung Hom Kok is less crowded than Stanley, both areas are very low-density and consist mainly of townhouses and a few low-rise apartment blocks. The commuting time to Central varies between 30 and 45 minutes.

Most Chung Hom Kok and Stanley townhouses have sea views and private outdoor areas. Apartments are primarily low-rise buildings and are generally spacious in nature. There is a mixture of colonial and modern facilities. Chung Hom Kok’s properties usually come with higher price tags than those in Stanley, with increased privacy attracting an additional premium.

Schools

Repulse Bay & Tai Tam are not only known for their beautiful landscapes but also for their educational institutions. The Hong Kong International School (HKIS) primary and secondary school campuses stand out among these institutions. Situated near the picturesque Chung Hom Kok Park and accessible via Chung Hom Kok Road, HKIS offers students a globally competitive education following the American curriculum. Aside from HKIS, there are many international kindergartens in nearby districts. In fact, Montessori Nursery has one of its branches in Stanley.

Chung Hom Kok Beach

Though often overshadowed by other beaches within the district, Chung Hom Kok beach’s intimate, cozy, and secluded atmosphere makes it a quiet haven for the residents of nearby apartments and houses. Just 169 meters wide, Chung Hom Kok beach humbly evades the outdoor sports and lively party vibe. Instead, it gives a lovely, tranquil vibe perfect for intimate chats & late-night walks. Its laid-back mood and uncrowded leisure experience are ideal for families and young couples who want a quiet escape from the city’s bustle. It’s a massive attraction for renting or buying properties in Chung Hom Kok.

Chung Hom Kok beach is managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. It offers convenient features and amenities, including barbecue pits, changing rooms with showers, light refreshment kiosks, and a trendy playground among neighborhood children.

Chung Hom Kok has a dry-cleaning facility, clinics, and a supermarket. Still, most residents prefer to shop in Stanley, where there are many shops & services, plus a large plaza. Additionally, the proximity of Chung Hom Kok beach, nestled near Chung Hom Kok park and accessible via Chung Hom Kok road, provides a serene coastal escape for the community. Amidst this vibrant setting, institutions like Cheshire Home contribute to the local well-being. Stanley is well-known for its clothing, souvenir market, and seaside restaurants. Stanley is a popular tourist site and can get very busy during peak seasons. Stanley has retained its old village charm and is primarily a self-contained community. Murray House is one of Hong Kong’s oldest surviving public buildings and was relocated from Central to its current position in Stanley. The Stanley International Dragon Boat Championship occurs at Stanley Main Beach around June yearly, with many corporate teams participating in the cultural sporting event.
