Happy Valley
Happy Valley Recreation Ground lies within the infield of Hong Kong Jockey Club Happy Valley Racecourse which is in Wong Nai Chung Road. Within the sports ground, there is a 1.1km jogging trail! Please be noted that it is closed on Wednesday because of the regular racing day. If this 1-km route cannot satisfy your thirst for running, do try this 7.6-km route: start on Wong Nai Chung Gap Road in Happy Valley, run towards Bowen Road and then Bowen Road Park back and forth. There are quite a number of large scale housing estates in happy Valley, such as Beverly Hill and The Leighton Hill, or you may choose Village Terrace or Shing Woo Building for lower budget.

Bowen Road
Bowen Road is the most prominent one among all running routes of different Hong Kong Island districts. Why? Former Chief Executives Tung Chee-hwa and Leung Chun-ying, former Financial Secretary John Tsang Chun-wah of the HKSAR government, as well as celebrities such as Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Andy Hui Chi-on opted for this route to run! Runners can overlook the stunning view from Central to Wanchai and Happy Valley while sweating. Besides, with just a 4-km traffic-free route and two-third flat road segment, you can run with ease! What is more, the fresh air derived from the abundance of plantation along the two sides of the route is definitely a blessing to runners! You can find Bowen Place, Fairlane Tower, Hong Villa and Regence Royale along with Bowen Road.
Lugard Road
The running trail in Lugard Road is merely 3.5 km. It enables you to have a flexible running that you can finish the route once in case you want to have a shorter run. When you want to run for a longer one, you can accomplish the route twice (7 km) or more! Just kick start at The Peak Tower, pass Victoria Peak, move forward along Lugard Road and Harlech Road and then go back to The Peak Tower. The listings on Lugard Road are all luxury properties such as Hirst Mansion, Carolina Gardens and Villa Verde, etc.
Central & Western District
Start at Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park in Sheung Wan, run along the Central & Western District Promenade (Sheung Wan Section), finish at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wanchai. The length of this route is just 3.5 km! Short enough for an after-work refresh! There are not much residential listings in Central, thus many people consider Sheung Wan, the stop after Central. Listings there include Queen’s Terrace, Centrestage, Soho 189 and etc.

Pokfulam
Victoris Road is the most popular running hotspot in the Western District. It is the only road connecting the Western and Southern Districts of Hong Kong Island besides Pokfulam Road. Running enthusiasts can depart from Kennedy Town via the Mount Davis, Sha Wan Road, Bel-Air, Telegraphy Bay, and finally returned to Kennedy Town on Pokfulam Road, it’s about 13 kilometers back and forth. Victoria Road has a good view of the coastline and sunsets, but there are many ramps along the road, and novices may feel more difficult. There are several large housing estates in Pokfulam District, such as Bel-Air and Baguio Villa. If you are looking for a convenient place, The Belcher’s next to the MTR Station is your best choice.
