Quarry Bay is situated on the eastern side of Hong Kong Island. Formerly an industrial area, it is becoming increasingly residential and commercial (now accounting for almost 10% of HK’s total office supply). Public transport includes trams, buses, minibuses and the MTR, and Central is roughly 20 minutes away. Housing: Most residents live in Taikoo Shing and Kornhill, large private residential developments. Apartments are predominantly located in high rise buildings, with low to mid-price ranges. Some smaller developments include Parkvale and The Floridian. Schools: Quarry Bay Primary School is part of the English Schools Foundation. School of Canada has both primary and secondary school campuses in the district. Highlights: There are 2 large shopping centres in Taikoo and Kornhill with supermarkets, restaurants, cinemas and an ice-skating rink among other facilities. There are a number of restaurants scattered around the Quarry Bay area, particularly on King’s Road. Quarry Bay Playground is a large public area with many recreational facilities available for enjoyment.
