12 March 2015 - The price for a normal ‘shoebox’ apartment in Hong Kong could always buy something unimaginable on the other side of the world, and now it can buy an entire Wild West town in California, USA.

Located in Valley Center of San Diego, the town was formerly a private film set for movies and advertisements. Listed at USD$900,000 (approximately HKD$6.9 million), the property includes not only a 1500-squarefoot two-bedroom house, but also a barbershop, a bar, and even a jail, all replicas of an old West town.

“I tell you what, you start to scuff your heels and walk like a cowboy,” proudly stated Earl Brown, the listing agent of Realtor.com.  The major difficulty of selling the property, however, as Brown admitted, is the under-value of the wooden residential house itself, which is rated for barely half of the asking price. The town is expecting a new “Sherriff” that appreciates the property as a whole, to save it from being dismantled part by part in auction. So far the listing is still available online.
