THE BELCHER'S is a luxury residential development built on the western district. It was a cooperative project by four major developers, including Sun Hung Kai Properties, New World Development, Shun Tak Holdings, and Liu Chong Hing Investment. It consists of six residential buildings completed in two phases. Phase 1, completed in 2000, includes Towers 1, 2 and 3 located just off Pokfulam Road on the hillside of Lung Fu Shan. Phase 2 comprises Towers 5, 6 and 8, which are connected to Belcher's Street close to the harbour front. Occupancy began in 2001. The estate is nestled on a lush hillside and its design allows residents to enjoy either panoramic views of Victoria Harbour or verdant mountain scenery. The location sits just opposite to The University of Hong Kong and the school catchment zones with close proximity to the HKU Station of MTR West Island line, which links to a huge transportation network, and convenient transport access to the Central business district. The six residential towers are 44 to 48 stories high with 8 units on each floor. Typical units range from the smallest two-bedroom unit with a saleable area of 659 sq.ft. to the largest four-bedroom unit with a saleable area of 1,448 sq.ft. A total of 2,213 units make up THE BELCHER's. The luxurious and spacious clubhouse is called - 'The Belcher's Club,' and is an all-weather deluxe facility covering 190,000 sq.ft. of landscaped gardens innovatively conceived by famous designer Mr. Steve Leung. It includes a swimming pool, gymnasium centre, children's playground and tennis court. The estate comes with a shopping mall called 'The Westwood,' which is annexed to the development. It's a 5-storey shopping complex with a gross floor area of nearly 230,000 sq.ft. It offers a comprehensive mix of retail outlets along with multiple community facilities nearby, so residents can enjoy a comfortable and leisurely lifestyle.
