ah, comforting companion
please sing a song for me
in this thousand-mile trek
racing against a half-moon
over dunes and bay.
cares and complications
fly like untied bandanna
in the wind.

mischievous companion,
play a little night music
as i race past 
memories into forgiveness.
i shed my poetic madness
on the open road and stare
at the face of reason

ah, wolfie amadeus ...
thank you for your company
the meanders have combed
the cobwebs off my mind -
and left a clearing for dreams
to grow again
